It’s all the same, only the names have changed edition
Choose wisely.

I don’t know what these are
![]() 09/29/2015 at 15:49 |

DD the Westminster, Track the Lancia, and acid the Pug.

Not an obvious choice, but not an unwise one. Passed.

DD the Peugeot, Track the Lancia, burn the Austin.

DD: Peugeot
Track: Lancia
Drop in acid hide in a secret garage and sell later: Austin

DD: Westminster
Track: Lancia
Drop: Acid

Neither did I, but the common thread (aka THEY ALL LOOK FOOKIN’ THE SAME) is that they’re Pininfarina designs for small family cars that came out around the same time. Lancia Flaminia, Austin Westminster, and Peugeot 404.

DD Pug so I have an excuse to not go to work if it breaks, and so its Frenchness will alleviate boredom.
Track Flaminia.
Dip Austin in acid long enough to reduce weight substantially, track it too. (The Smokey Yunick gambit)

Lol small family cars.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:08 |

SORRY CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER GIANT ‘MERICA NASH ALSO BY PININFARINA
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:13 |

There’s no way in hell I’m not tracking the 404 :-)
That leaves the more lavishly appointed Lancia as DD.
I don’t even know what a Westminster is, so screw that.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:13 |

Lol but seriously, I did get that one wrong. It’s just that for some reason Pininfarina styling of the era looks small and I misread something. The Nash is absolutely huge, though - like a half meter longer.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:16 |

Neither the Lancia nor the Austin are particularly small. One of them also cost more than a Mercedes and the other got a Rolls-Royce engine in a later model.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:19 |

What if I told you that a variation of the Westminster had a 4.0 Rolls-Royce straight six out of some kind of military truck thing ?
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:21 |

I had the exact same response. I literally laughed out loud.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:22 |

um.... still no. Anyway, if i want an RR straight 6, I should do that properly, shouldn’t I, old chap?
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:26 |

DD the Lancia. Probably the nicest of the bunch.
Track the Peugeot. Probably the sturdiest of the lot with the biggest parts supply.
Drop the the British boat in metal eating acid. I doubt there’s a lot of metal left in a British car after that much time, so it won’t do much damage anyway.

You sure you don’t want tank-like reliability?
![]() 09/29/2015 at 16:32 |

That’s a Dingo, right? No, Dingo is Daimler, then what is that?

According to wiki its a Ferret.

Is in ferreting out the enemy, right...? Anyhow, nice DD, Track & Burn riddle you have had here, even if my very own priorities meant it was a no-brainer for me.

DD the Lancia
Track the Westie
Burn the Peugeot, those are too slow, sorry.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 18:13 |

404, a car name that doesn’t work so well in the post internet world.
![]() 09/29/2015 at 18:14 |

I like this bit
![]() 09/29/2015 at 18:22 |

DD- Peugeot because it’s simpler than the Lancia but more comfortable than the Austin.
Track- Lancia because it’s more powerful and bound to rev higher and handle best. With such low power, its FWD traction would serve it well.
Acid- Austin because it’s too dull, agricultural, unreliable, and slow to do anything well compared to the Pug and Lancia.

You’d be wrong. You’re thinking of the Vanden Plas Princess 4-Litre R. While based on the Westminster platform, it had a much sleeker tail and was finished much better.

DD Peugeot
Track Lancia
Burn the other one
![]() 09/30/2015 at 08:01 |

a variation of the Westminster
Your avatar is a 1990s Buick. What do you know about fit and finish?
![]() 09/30/2015 at 08:17 |

bound to rev higher
Almost square pushrod V6, max power 129hp @ 5000rpm
its FWD traction
You mean Transaxle RWD traction, right? RIGHT???
![]() 09/30/2015 at 10:19 |

Haha! I confused the drive wheels with the Flavia. And apparently the V6 doesn't rev particularly high

Yours is a Fiat Multipla. What do you?
And the VDP P4LR was finished better than the Westminster. It cost half again as much as the 3L version. It was supposed to form the basis of the Bentley Java.
